Beverly J. Meverden, age 81 of Tigerton, passed away on Thursday morning July 20, 2023 at Shawano Health Services.
Beverly Jean Meverden was born May 14, 1942 in Tigerton, WI, daughter to the late Raymond & Florence (Salzman) Redman. She attended, and later graduated from Tigerton High School. She was united in marriage to Aelred “Al” Meverden on June 24, 1961 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Tigerton and together, they raised four boys. The couple resided in Split Rock for many years. Beverly was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she helped with serving lunches for funerals. Helping people was something that came naturally to Beverly; she lived this out by working in home healthcare, serving people when they needed it the most. Her husband Al, passed away in 2000, and she was later united in marriage to John Rettkowski on June 30, 2006 at the Shawano Courthouse. She enjoyed the time she got to spend with her sisters on weekend getaways to go shopping or see the sights wherever they would visit. Bird watching in her backyard at her own bird sanctuary was an everyday joy that she loved to share with others, especially her grandchildren. The family will always remember her perfectly baked Rosette Christmas cookies, shared with family around the holidays. Beverly cherished hosting picnics for the family in her backyard right next to the river. She loved and cherished her grandchildren. Those who knew her, knew that she was sweet, loving, kind, and would always be willing to help anyone.
