Christopher John Belongia “CJ,” age 36 of Appleton, exited this world on April 20, 2023, surrounded by family at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton, WI. CJ was born in Shawano on October 21, 1986, a Son of Harold Belongia and Melodie (Page) Waubanascum. CJ graduated from Shawano High school where he had a passion for football, baseball, and basketball. He was an astonishing young man who brought joy to everybody around him. His hobbies were fishing, softball, baseball, and billiards. Many of you know CJ as the self-proclaimed “pool shark.” He played league ball in several establishments and was a very social butterfly. It is with even more great sadness that now, without him, your teams will all suck. (He would make me say that.)
Christopher is survived by his fiancé, Melissa Zemel of Appleton; his children, Mackenzie, and Graysen; his mother and stepfather, Melodie, and Carl Waubanascum of Shawano; his father, Harold Belongia of Appleton; his sister, Paige Bohm (Kyle Buettner); and his sole niece Ameliya of Shawano. He is also survived by his grandma, Karen Page of Shawano; his aunts, Tammy Page (Jeremey Bentti) of Neenah, Judy Belongia of Seymour, and Sue Belongia of Green Bay; his uncles, Lee Page of Gresham, Mark (Cathy) Belongia of Appleton, Bruce Belongia of Appleton, Glen (Earlene) Belongia of Bakersfield, CA, and Richie (Susie) Belongia of Shawano; his special cousin Kirk Menore of Shawano; numerous other cousins; and countless friends.
CJ was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dean “Buck” Page; his paternal grandparents, Harold, and Geraldine Belongia; and his uncles John Belongia, and Wayne Belongia.
A time to gather and celebrate CJ’s life will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a closing prayer at 7:00 pm at Mickelson Funeral Home in Shawano.
Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements. Please share online condolences at www.mickelsonfs.com.
