Karen Marie Reeves, age 63 passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah, on Saturday, April 8th, 2023.
Karen Reeves was born and raised in Milwaukee WI by her mother Shirley Annie (Grantz) Sturdevant and her father Wesley Andrew Sturdevant Jr. Karen met her husband Terrence Reeves at Macromatic in Milwaukee. They fell in love at first sight. Karen and Terrence were united in marriage, February 14th, 2000, in Las Vegas. Karen enjoyed bowling. Karen and Terrence were in a bowling league together. Karen also enjoyed going to the casino, rummage sales, restaurant’s, fishing, camping, bar’s, and playing card games. Karen was the champion at cribbage. Karen also enjoyed cooking. She was an amazing cook, and her children called her numerous times a day, asking how to make something. Karen had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. She was a goofy, happy person that was not afraid to say something that was on her mind. Karen was the best mother anyone could have ever asked for. She would have given you the shirt off of her back. Karen was very giving and caring. Karen was diagnosed with COPD many years ago but her sickness never brought her down, she was the strongest person her family has ever known. As her illness progressed the last 5 years, She still enjoyed her online games, hanging out with her grandchildren, and even hanging out with her furry cat friend precious. They may not always get along at times but, regardless of what she said, precious was her little buddy and they slept together every night. Karen also enjoyed working at the gas station in Clintonville, making many new friends along the way. Karen was a hard worker during her entire life and most of all, a hard-working mother to 6 children.
Karen had 6 children and 4 grandchildren. Karen is survived by her loving husband Terrence Lee Reeves, her 4 sons, Manuel Wesley Botelho (Manny), Joseph Scott Botelho (Joey), Brian James Schmeling, and James Brian Schmeling, her daughter, Karissa Lee Reeves (Dominick). Karen is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Manuel Wesley Botelho Jr.(Little Manny), Dominick Joseph Bessette Jr.(DJ), Evelyn Snow Schmeling, (Eevee) and Elena Rose Bessette.
Karen is survived by her two sisters, Kathleen Joyce (Sturdevant) Peterson, Christine Jo (Sturdevant) Boileau, and her brother, Wesley Andrew Sturdevant II. Karen is survived by her nieces and nephews, Tammy (Kaylee) (Peterson) Ulbrik, Jason Peterson, Matthew Peterson, and Andrea Jean Boileau.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother Shirley, her father Wesley, and her youngest child, Terrence Lee Reeves Jr. (Little T.) Who passed away at the age of 7 months old.
The funeral service for Karen Marie Reeves will be held on Monday, April 17th, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM until time of service.
