SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano Hawks topped New London 2-1 on a walk-off hit by Jerzy Brocker in the bottom of the 10th inning. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 5th inning when Carsen Herm lead off with a walk and Crew Weisnicht followed with a base hit to right field. Jerzy Brocker had a big two out hit to score Herm to give the Hawks the lead. New London answered back in the top of the 6th with a run of their own. The game stayed tied at 1 until the bottom of the 10th inning where Crew Weisnicht lead off the inning with a base hit and Owen Curran laid down a sac bunt to move pinch runner Dylan Hodkiewicz to second base. Jerzy Brocker ended the game with a walk off double to the left center field gap. The Hawks had 7 hits on the night and were lead by Jerzy Brocker and Crew Weisnicht both with 2 hits. Brocker had both RBI’s in the victory. Tom Keszo started the game and went 5 innings. He gave up 2 hits, 1 run, 0 walks, and had 6 strikeouts. Bryce Popp picked up the win going 5 innings, giving up 1 hit, 0 runs, 2 walks, and had 7 strikeouts. The Hawks move to 2-0 in the Bay Conference and 2-0 overall after defeating New London 11-7 on Monday. In that game, Michael Metcalf-Grassman earned the win in relief of Ashton Henning. The two gave up five hits, and had 14 combined strikeouts. Ethan Hertzfeldt took the loss. Pete Bruette, Metcalf-Grassman and Carsen Herm all had two hits. New London had five hits scattered by five players. Hertzfeldt and Michael Helsten both had doubles.
