Carol Ann Gehm, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 due to complications from chronic leukemia. She was born on October 9, 1939 to the late Elmer and Bernice (Kuehn) Schneider in Milwaukee. Carol was united in marriage on March 22, 1958 to Marvin Gehm at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Carol and Marvin worked a dairy farm in the Cecil area for many years. In her younger years Carol enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. She was always busy and enjoyed being a farmer and a mother. Carol was hard working and sold produce and eggs for many years enjoying the visits of her numerous clients. In the spring through the fall, Carol loved gardening both vegetables and flowers and tending her apple orchard. She worked at Wind Swept Acres Greenhouse Flower Farm. Carol loved her dogs, Nana and Paco as well as all the other animals she met while frequently volunteering at the Shawano County Humane Society.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin; children, Bonnie (Tom) Timm and Steve Gehm; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Richter of Waukesha and Emily (James) Brown of Oklahoma; great granddaughter, Gianna; brothers, John Schneider and Jeff Schneider; sister-in-law, Carol Schneider; and long-time friend, Armando Llanas. She is further survived by numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Carol is preceded by her parents and her brother, James Schneider.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Swedberg Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 10:00 am until the closing prayer at 1:00 pm. Memorials may be directed to the Forest County Humane Society where she adopted her beloved dog, Nana.
