Judith A. “Judy” (Corn) Newton, Age 64 of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly and started her journey to the spirit world on Wednesday evening, July 6, 2022, at ThedaCare Medical Center-
Appleton.
Judy was born on Sept 25, 1957, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Violet Butler and Gayle Corn. Judy and her family moved to Shawano in 1963 where she attended school. Following high school, she attended the College of the Menominee Nation where she made the Dean’s List and graduated with high honors. Judy owned, operated her own cleaning business, and volunteered extensively for numerous causes.
She is a member of St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. Judy loved spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies were fishing, taking rides in the woods, camping, and dancing. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Judy is survived by one daughter, Carol (Jeremy) Voldsness of Green Bay; her stepson, Clarence “That Bear” Fish (Terri Sanapaw); three grandchildren, Dalton (Krista) Jacobs, Seth Brunette, and Aria Brunette; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln, and Symphony; six step-grandchildren, Vincent, Utahnna, Ciarra, Abby, Evenell, and Dr. J. She is further survived by two sisters, Glenda Hollsten of Appleton and Renee (Nolan) Mahkimetas of Keshena; her brothers, Eugene Newton of Green Bay, Alfred “Baby Gene” (Kala Jo) Newton of Keshena, Whatta Dodge, Mike Newton of Appleton, and Jerry Newton of Freedom; two special nieces, Jessica Pruess of Omro, and Tammy Swierczynski of Sun Prairie; three goddaughters, Tammy, Jewels, and Deborah McPherson; three special friends, Karen Boyd, Nicky Boman-Pharrel, and her “Sister” Bobbi Caldwell; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her sister, Sandi, and two brothers, Everett “Newt” Newton, and Jonathon.
A funeral mass for Judy will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. Father Hanz Christian will be the Celebrant. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm on Sunday, June 10, 2022, at the St. Anthony Community Center and continue until the time of Mass on Tuesday.
