MADISON, WI- Her presence on the Wisconsin sex offender registry means a transgender woman from Shawano County won’t be allowed to change her name. The Wisconsin Supreme Court made that decision on a four-to-three vote Thursday. The woman had to register as a sex offender after being convicted of sexually assaulting a disabled 14-year-old boy seven years ago. The woman identified in court papers as “Ella” was 15 at the time. She identified as a male and was ordered to register as a sex offender for 15 years.
