CLINTONVILLE, WI- A St. Cloud-based company is taking over Tadych’s Econofoods in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan and Eastern Wisconsin. Among the locations under the new ownership is the Clintonville facility.
The announcement on Tuesday indicated that a purchase agreement was signed for Corborn’s Inc. to purchase a total of three stores in the UP, and three stores in Wisconsin. Along with Clintonville, the purchase agreement includes the Sturgeon Bay and Brillion locations.
In the press release, it was indicated that the around 800 employees at the six locations will all be hired by Corborn’s Inc. and the stores will remain operating under the name Tadych’s.
“The Tadych family has run their family of stores with great care and is a highly-respected retailer,” said Chris Corborn, chair, president, and CEO. “We look forward to extending the same operating philosophies in these locations.”
This will be the companies first entry into the state of Michigan. The transactions are expected to close in early December. When all is done, Corborn’s will have expanded to 66 locations.
