CECIL, WI- The 6th Annual Sunflower Fest is underway this weekend at Bergsbaken Farms in Cecil.
“The biggest thing is that our flowers are on time, they are blooming and they are beautiful,” said Dale Bergsbaken, organizer of the event.
There are plenty of ways to enjoy the sunflowers. “We have three different length walking trails and there are bridges and platforms to view the flowers.”
Wagon rides through the grounds are also available.
Vendors are also on-site and they are all selling items that are sunflower themed.
Saturday and Sunday will include music.
“The festivities end at 4:00 pm each day but people can stay after to take pictures and enjoy the flowers after,” said Bergsbaken.
This year, more than 1.5 million sunflowers await visitors.
The Bergsbaken family is suggesting a $2 dollar donation per visitor.
Kids’ activities include bounce houses, corn pits, face painting, and balloon animals. You can also pick your own sunflowers for $1 dollar each or 6 flowers for $5 dollars.
The farm is also dog-friendly.
