Paul August Kriescher, age 83 of Shawano passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Paul was born on March 13, 1938, to the late Henry and Frances (Pavlat) Kriescher in the township of Navarino. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1957. Paul enlisted and proudly served in the Army. He was united in marriage to his first wife Patricia Pecore in Shawano. Patricia preceded Paul in death in August of 1993. Paul found love again and married his second wife Lorraine (Rambo) Retzlaff on May 22, 1999, in Shawano. Lorraine preceded Paul in death in March of 2014. Paul worked as a truck driver for Zwicker’s Knitting Mill in Appleton for many years. He later worked at Charlie’s County Market in Shawano where he will be fondly remembered by many employees and customers who he enjoyed serving. In Paul’s free time he loved playing cards, bowling, playing baseball, playing softball, and golfing. He was awarded “fan of the year” by the Shawano Booster Club, which he was proud of. Paul was also an avid Packer and Brewer’s fan and cheered them on throughout their season. He was a very religious man who lived his faith and was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Paul was also a member of the Shawano VFW, Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Knights.
Paul is survived by his children Paul (Michalina) Kriescher of Denver, Co., Ann (Tony) Goerl of Neenah; stepchildren Edgar (Violet) Retzlaff Jr. of Shawano, Rick (Mary) Retzlaff of Shawano, Richard Retzlaff of Appleton, Linda (Bruce) Boerst of Cecil, Brenda (Alan) Thomas of Shawano; grandchildren Rachel Kriescher, Rowen Goerl, Theresa (Joel) Novitzski, Timothy (Tara) Retzlaff, Angela Retzlaff, Jennifer Buth, Tiffani (Scott) Kimball, Nathan (Krystin) Retzlaff, Andrew (Theresa) Boerst, Rachel Boerst, Anthony (Jenna) Boerst, Aaron (Megan) Boerst and Alanna (Timothy) Mass; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Huebner, Florence Onesti, Helen Kriescher, Betty Kadletz, and Mary (Tom) Mueller; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his first wife, Patricia; his second wife Lorraine; his parents; and siblings, James, Tony, Henry, Ramona, Joan, and Louis.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Deacon James Lonick officiating. Military Honors will be held at the church following the service. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, after 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
