SHAWANO, WI – After more than 7 years serving as Clerk/Treasurer of the City of Shawano, Karla Duchac is calling it a career.
“I will tell you that I enjoyed my career both here and in the Town of Wescott.”
The town of Wescott is where Duchac was working when she was appointed back in 2012.
During the Shawano City Council Meeting on Wednesday, Mayor Ed Whealon recognized Duchac for her years of dedication to the city and presented her with a certificate.
“I have grown with everybody and I appreciate that very much,” Duchac told the city council.
After spending many days and evenings at council and committee meetings, Duchac says she is going to take some time away.
“I am not leaving town, I am just leaving the job. I will still be out and about.”
She says she plans on doing some vacations to kick off her retirement.
The city council also recognized Officer Keith Sorlie who also recently retired from law enforcement.
