MARION, WI – A 16-year-old Marion teen is being charged as an adult for an attempted homicide after an argument with his pregnant girlfriend.
Marion Police say they were called out a residence on January 7 for a disturbance that took place earlier in the day.
The investigation determined that the male teen and his 17-year-old girlfriend got into an argument and he would not let her leave and had her remove her shoes to make sure she stayed at the residence.
Police also learned that the male allegedly took the females phone and strangled her. He also allegedly punched her in the stomach.
Police learned that the female was able to escape and contacted police after arriving at a relatives house.
Police took the 16-year-old male into custody and the female was transported to a hospital to check on the well-being of the unborn baby.
In Waupaca County Court, the male was charged with 1st Degree Attempted Homicide, 1st Degree Attempted Homicide of an Unborn Child, Strangulation, False Imprisonment and Intimidating A Witness with Use of Force.
Clintonville Police and the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department also assisted in the investigation.
Marion Police will not be releasing the names of the individuals due to the fact that they are juveniles.
