Charles “Chuck” Brehm, age 83, of Clintonville (formerly of Racine) passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Charles Edward Brehm was born on January 21, 1936 in Racine son of the late Clarence and Florence (Bohn) Brehm. In 1955 he graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in Racine. Chuck was united in marriage on November 3, 1956 to the love of his life Jeanne M. Mann at St. Edward Catholic Church in Racine. He worked as a salesman for Continental Baking – Wonder Bread of Somers for over 35 years, retiring in 1997.
Chuck is a former member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Racine for many years; and currently a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marion. He liked listening to mass and the rosary every day on EWTN Catholic Television. Chuck enjoyed playing golf and spending time on all sorts of woodworking projects. He was an avid sports fan who especially liked watching golf and the Green Bay Packers. Chuck will be dearly missed by all who loved him. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jeanne; and four children, Jeff (Jean) Brehm of Racine, Jera (Steve) Christensen of Racine, Judi (boyfriend Dave Weathersby) Ropicky of Racine, and Donna (Jeff) Haas of Marion. There are 10 grandchildren: Laura (Travis) Zaremba, Craig (Emily) Brehm, Luke Brehm, Danielle (fiancé Max Pierson) Christensen, Matthew (girlfriend Erin Morgan) Christensen, Nathan (Brianna) Ropicky, Kirk Ropicky, Fr. Ryan Starks, Reanne (Mark) Maney, and Stephen (Brittany) Haas. There are 10 great grandchildren: Lila and Reese Zaremba; Clay and Reegan Brehm; Kaiden Ropicky; Adelynn, Elena, Isla, and Orrin Maney; and Sutton Haas. He is also survived by one brother-in-law, Herbert “Skip” (Karen) Mann Jr. of Kenosha; and four sisters-in-law, Judy (Gerald) Putzer of Colorado, Joannie Mann Pelky of Pleasant Prairie, Janet “Cookie” (Vaughn) Zenko of Bakersfield, MT, and Jean (Dorf) Brehm of Racine. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Delores Brehm and Joyce (Werner) Sander, and a brother John “Jack” Brehm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 25th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marion. Fr. Ryan Starks will officiate and inurnment will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the Charles Brehm family.
