
Wanda M. May, age 86, of Clintonville (formerly Marion) left her earthly troubles behind and went to be with the love of her life on January 9, 2019.
The former Wanda Marie Nielsen was born the 10th of 13 children to Severt and Nellie (Sherman) Nielsen on February 9, 1932 in Waupaca. She married Russell E. May on October 21, 1950 and moved to a small farm near Marion where they raised their seven children. When the big house got to be too much for them they moved to an apartment in Clintonville and then to Aster Assisted Living due to health issues. Her husband Russell preceded her in death on January 15, 2014.
Wanda loved her family first; then her sewing which she continued even after moving to Aster. She also enjoyed fishing with Russ on the Marion Pond. Wanda was a loving woman and made many friends where ever she went.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Karl (Liz) May of Green Bay, Jeannie May of Clintonville, Kyle May of Bryant, Kurt May of Appleton, Jeff (Rosa) May of Marion, Russell (Candy) May of Grand Bay, AL, Oscar (Jessica) May of Oconto; and a daughter-in-law, Nora Jende of Keshena. There are eight grandchildren: Ketrina (Cory) Sullenger and children Carolina, Olivia, Charleigh, Leeah, and Penelopea; April May; Aidan May; Nadia May; Angel (Staci) Fonseca and children Leya, Talya, Mari, and Ziyon; Michael Fonseca and children Kane and Kash; Daniel (fiancée Bobbi Martinez) Fonseca and children Lamont and Zamier; and Michelle (fiancé Rick) Fonseca and children Damien, Elliot, and Natalie. There is one brother, Tom (Pauline) Nielsen; one sister, Patricia (Steve) Luft; sisters-in-law, Carol (Mike) Kubiaczyk, Germaine Nielsen, Ruby Nielsen, Evelyn Nielsen, Grace Nielsen, Lois May, and Mary Pat Nielsen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son; three sisters Nora, Cora, and Lucille; seven brothers Jim, Fred, Everett, Ken, LaVerne, Eugene, and Richard. She is further preceded by her father and mother-in-law, Oscar and Lela May; sisters-in-law, Doris Adams, Betty Pietz, Ellen May, and Jean Ann May; and brothers-in-law, Oscar and William May.
Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 11:00 AM at Roseland Cemetery, Town of Dupont, with Pastor Lois Graper officiating. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Marion, is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Wanda’s memory to a charity of your own choice.
