Citizens can learn more about the Wisconsin State Patrol’s many career opportunities and responsibilities during an open house set for Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Wausau State Patrol post. State Patrol personnel at the event will include a trooper, inspector, SWAT team member and K9 officer. The media is welcome to attend. The State Patrol is currently recruiting men and women interested in law enforcement careers and serving as troopers or inspectors. The application deadline is March 31.
“The open house is a chance for people to learn more about career opportunities with the State Patrol and the various public safety services our officers provide throughout the year,” said State Patrol Captain Adrian Logan, Commander of the State Patrol’s Wausau post. “With the March 31 application deadline approaching, we’re entering the final phase of our recruitment drive for people to apply to become a trooper or inspector, so officers will be on hand to discuss the many career opportunities available with the State Patrol.”

State troopers patrol interstates and other main travel corridors enforcing traffic laws and assisting stranded motorists. State Patrol inspectors have similar enforcement duties and authorities, but also work at the 13 Safety and Weight Enforcement Facilities across the state to help ensure that commercial motor vehicles and drivers are operating safely.
