Expansion Plans Unveiled

Safe Haven Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Support Center celebrated 25 years of advocacy services, and 15 years of shelter programming with their “Big Reveal” fundraiser on Friday. The night was filled with speakers, stats, perspectives, stories of strength, and a look at Safe Haven’s new planned addition.
“It is a big jump” Executive Director Stacy Cicero said. “It is about 2200 square feet and our capital campaign goal is $425,000 dollars, so we have a big jump to do.”
The new expansion does not come without a cost, and Cicero says the community can help.
“They can send a check to Safe Haven, and we received a $50,000 dollar matching gift tonight, so individuals who donate, their donation will be matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000.” Cicero said.
With Safe Haven’s campaign goal, comes an opportunity to sponsor one of the bedrooms.
“We have eight bedrooms in the shelter, and to sponsor the one of those bedrooms is $1,000 dollars” Cicero said. “That money will furnish and decorate the bedroom.”
As of the night of the “Big Reveal”, two bedrooms were already sponsored.
